The court also issued orders to water and power secretary to appear before it in person on next hearing.

A single IHC bench comprising Justice Athar Minullah took up for hearing petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Asad Omar and PTI information secretary Shireen Mazari on additional bills of electricity charged to consumers by power distribution companies Monday.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Malik Farooq Faisal and counsels for power distribution companies including IESCO, LESCO, NEPRA and other parties appeared in the court. However, no lawyer appeared on behalf of the petitioners.
