Ceramics art exhibition opens at RAC

An exhibition of ceramics art by renowned artist Lubna Malik opened at the art gallery of Rawalpindi Arts Council on Tuesday.

Pride of Performance winner artist Aftab Ahmed Khan accompanied by Naheed Manzoor and RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition.

More than 80 art pieces have been showcased at the art gallery of this council comprising calligraphy with name of Allah and wall panels of different colour scheme and style.

Lubna Malik belongs to Sargodha and got education in ceramics art from National College of Arts, Lahore. She had conducted three solo exhibitions while participated in 11 group shows all over the country.

Lubna Malik is also teaching Ceramics art at Shakir Ali Museum, Lahore where she is imparting her art to the young generation for preservation of Ceramics art.

The most important aspect of the exhibition was the calligraphy where the names of Allah were written with ceramics.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Aftab Ahmed Khan said that Lubna Malik has unique position in Ceramics art. He said that scribe the names of Allah with white clay is a unique technique which is not possible for everyone.

Naheed Manzoor said that uniqueness appeared in the work of Lubna Malik in which white clay mixed with different colours has been baked in furnace with expertise.

RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed welcomed Lubna Malik for conducting her first exhibition at Rawalpindi Arts Council. He said that this council is property of artists where they are provided an opportunity to display their art work. The exhibition of ceramics art will remain open till December 1.
