Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Monday advised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to allocate the vacated seats in federal bureaucracy to Sindh in line with the quota reserved for the province in the constitution.
In a letter to the premier on Monday, the Sindh CM stated that Sindh must be given representation in bureaucracy on the basis of population as prescribed in the constitution.
He further stated that the federal bureaucracy plays an imperative role in formulating and implementing government policies.
Noncompliance with the constitution regarding the Sindh quota is “hapless” and Sindh’s representation in the federal bureaucracy is next to nought, he added.
He urged the premier not to halt the promotion of Sindhi officers, adding that Sindh must also be duly represented during appointment of federal secretaries and the chief secretaries.
