Local court orders to register case against Sheikh Rashid

Orders of filing a case against Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for a violence-inciting speech have been issued by a local court in Nankana Sahib, private media reported.

According to details, Rashid; in his speech during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rally on November 12 in the city, had warned the government of a defensive action if it tried to disrupt the party’s anti-government rally scheduled on November 30 in Islamabad.

A local office-bearer of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) had filed a petition against the AML chief for ‘incting violence’. The case is expected to be registered soon at the city’s police station, news reports add.

A few days earlier, Rashid had said he was ready to face allegations while representing ‘180 million Pakistanis’.
