Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to perform at Nobel Peace Prize Award ceremony

 

Distinguished Pakistani Sufi singer and composer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been invited to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Award ceremony.

The ceremony is set to take place on December 10 in Oslo,Norway, where the young Pakistani educational activist Mala Yousafzai and India’s Kailash Satyarthi will receive the Nobel Peace Prize  for their work of promoting children’s rights.

Ceremoniously, the laureates are awarded with Nobel Peace Prize by the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in the presence of King Harald V of Norway.

Rahat is the first Pakistani to receive the honour of performing at the ceremony.

Talking to media, Khan said that it’s moment of pride to represent his country internationally and he will keep on making efforts to make his country proud.

Mala is the youngest person to be awarded with the globally prestigious annual prize.

Hailing the contribution of Malala towards education of children, the Norwegian Committee said that peaceful global development can only come by giving equal respect to the children and the young.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif applauded   Malal Yousafazai’s winning of Nobel Peace Prize by calling her the “pride”of Pakistan.
