The Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday has admitted for regular hearing a petition seeking court’s directions to prevent Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) from holding any public meeting of November 30 and issued notices to Federal and Punjab government and Imran Khan.
The petition was filed by AK Dogar. The petitioner took the plea that Khan wants to drift the country into civil war and chaos. Therefore, the party shouldn’t be allowed to hold any public gathering, he prayed.
A 3-member bench of the LHC headed by Justice Khalid Mehmood took up the petition for hearing.
“The court had earlier issued orders for preventing Azadi and Inquilab March but the government did not implement this order. If government is allowing PTI to hold public meetings then what objection you have got,” the court remarked.
“Objection is not over holding a public meeting but objection is over what steps are to follow this meeting,” AK Dogar replied.
The court remarked that protection of law and constitution will be ensured at every cost. The court issued notices to Federal and Punjab government for November 24.
