Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has rejected the proposal of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for increase in gas prices.
Prime minister’s spokesman Dr Musadik Malik stated this while briefing media on Friday. He said this was part of series of relief measures being taken by the government as per the prime minister’s vision to ensure means of livelihood, education and health for people of Pakistan.
The spokesman said it was for the first time that prices of petroleum products were being reduced for consecutive two months. He said after reduction of oil prices this month, the POL prices would be cut significantly during the next month as well.
He said reduction in prices of oil and non-implementation of the proposal for increase in gas price would directly benefit people in different ways.
