Five gangsters killed in encounters

As many as five alleged gangsters were killed in different encounters that took place in Lyari and Chanesar Goth areas on Friday.

A key gang war accused identified as Nadeem aka Japani was killed when an encounter took place with police in Lyari.

SSP City Sheraz Nazeer told that Nadeem belonged to Baba Ladla Group and claimed that he had killed 60 persons while he was also involved in Jhat Pat Market blast that killed 16 people including 12 children and women.

In another encounter that occurred near Ath Chowk area of Lyari, Rangers killed two more accused belonging to Baba Ladla Group. The gangsters were identified as Faiz Mohammad aka Lala Orangi and Mohammad Naeem aka Kalu.

According to Rangers sources, Lala Orangi was wanted in 59 cases of target killings along with several other high profile crimes and terrorism activities.

The other criminal Naeem Kalu was involved in 42 cases of target killings including PPP former councillor Jamil’s murder. The third encounter took place in Sangolane area of Lyari and according to the Rangers’ sources, a gangster identified as Yunus aka Madi was killed. They further told that the accused was involved in 10 target killings including the murder of ASI Riaz Tanoli and five members of a political party.

The bodies were moved to a hospital for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, an accused booked in several murder cases including a policeman was killed when an encounter took place in Chanesar Goth area of Karachi on Friday.

According to CID In-charge Mazhar Mashwani, the CID police conducted raids in Chanesar Goath area in order to apprehend the suspected persons.

During the operation, an exchange of fire took place between the CID police personnel and culprits during which an accused was killed. Mazhar Mashwani told that the accused identified as Sardar Saqib was involved in several murder cases including the murder of a head constable.
