Elements creating hurdles in the process of national development should shun negative politics and work for the betterment of the country, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while talking to former assembly member Rana Mubashar Iqbal and other elected representatives who called on him on Wednesday.

The chief minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was determined to bring the country out of crises and was serving the masses selflessly.

He said that elements staging sit-ins have wasted precious time of the nation and the masses want to know why they got the visits of international leaders postponed. He said that due to postponement of the important visit of the Chinese president, power projects have been delayed.

Shahbaz said that the government was successfully implementing public welfare agenda under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and due to its glorious performance and public service politics of sit-ins has failed.

He said the government was striving for economic revival and it is moving in the right direction. He said that several agreements have been signed between Pakistan and China for generation of electricity from coal. He said that these projects would be executed with speed and transparency and their completion will result in elimination of shortage of energy.
