Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had the worst on-time performance among global airlines in October this year, according to the most recent statistics from air travel consulting firm FlightStats.
PIA, with only 37.08% on-time flights and a delay average of 86.20 minutes, was followed by Air India with 50.38% on-time performance and 67.05 minutes average in delays.
Israeli Airlines EL AL was ranked the third worst on-time performer, followed by Etihad Airways; flag carrier airline of the United Arab Emirates and Taiwanese airline EVA Air as fourth and fifth worst in the list.
Iberia Airlines of Spain had the best on-time performance among global airlines in October of this year with an on-time performance of 90.05%. The delays were 33.70 minutes, on average.
Russian airline Aeroflot was ranked the second best on-time performer at an 89.62% on-time performance and a delay average of 52.02 minutes.
Scandinavian Airlines or SAS came in as third best with an on-time performance of 89.56%. and flights delayed were delayed by 37.27 minutes, on average.
The most on-time airline in North America was Alaska Airlines, with 88.85% on-time performance while in Latin America, Asia-Pacific region and Middle East & Africa region Copa Airlines, IndiGo and Saudia were recorded as the best on-time performers with on-time performances of 90.62%, 90.14% and 88.21%, respectively.
