A Pakistan Army soldier was killed on Thursday as Indian Border Security Force resorted to unprovoked firing in Pandu sector of the Line of Control (LoC) near Muzaffarabad.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Pakistani troops responded befittingly to Indian firing.”
The crossfire comes after a lull in fighting between India and Pakistan after weeks of heavy shelling and gunbattles across the border that killed at least 21 people on the Pakistani side.
Earlier, on November 17, a civilian and resident of Akhori village, Ghulam Muhammad, was injured in the firing as Indian forces resorted to ‘unprovoked’ firing.
The ongoing spate of attacks between the two countries has been the worst in years.
