*Punjab home minister ensures authorities will not prevent anyone from attending PTI rally nor will Qadri be arrested on his return
No hurdles will be created for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally in Islamabad nor will Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri be arrested upon his return to Pakistan, said Punjab Home Minister Colonel (r) Shuja Khanzada while talking to journalists at Chief Minister House on Wednesday.
Khanzada said that the new joint investigation team (JIT) formed to probe the Model Town incident will fulfill all legal requirements, adding that the committee can investigate anyone including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He said that no one will be stopped from attending the PTI rally in the federal capital on November 30.
The home minister further said that Dr Qadri will not be arrested nor will any restrictions be imposed on him.
On the occasion, Punjab government spokesman Zaeem Qadri said that the PTI chairman has shown his true face to the nation by torturing and imprisoning internally displaced persons (IDPs) and filing cases against them.
