Blast rocks passenger train in Mastung; several injured

A powerful explosion hit a passenger train Mastung district of Balochistan province on Thursday, derailing four bogies off the track and injuring several people.

According to official sources, the blast ripped through one passenger bogey on the train as it was passing through Dasht area of Mastung, about 25 kilometres south of Quetta.

The explosion derailed at least four bogies, injuring several passengers. The exact number of people injured is yet to be confirmed.

The passenger train was stopped following the blast, and police and rescue workers were called in to evacuate the injured to Quetta for medical treatment.
