The police on Wednesday informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that the missing Palestinian national Khalid Fathi is neither in police nor in custody of any security agency.
On Wednesday, Justice Noor ul Haq Ain Qureshi heard the hearing of the missing Palestinian national Khalid Fathi case in the IH. The case was filed by Khalid Fathi’s wife.
The plaintiff has made Defense Ministry, Interior Ministry, Golra Police Station SHO and Islamabad SSP as party.
Counsel for the petitioner Mirza Shahid Akbar appeared in the court and told that Khalid Fathi, a Palestinian national, had been residing in Islamabad since 1986 under the agreement of UNHCR.
On the morning of January 1, 2014 Fathi went on his morning walk from his house in G-13 and was abducted by some men in police uniforms and a plain clothes man.
The family after the incident filed a report of missing person in the Golra Police station, the counsel said. He further added that Fathi was abducted by law enforcing agencies.
The counsel told the court that the family has been living in Islamabad since 1986 and are not involved in any illegal activity. He said that his client was abducted illegally.
The counsel told the court that in the last hearing SHO of Golra Police Station was ordered to take full measures for recovery of Fathi, which still has not been done.
Golra Police Station SHO submitting the reply on behalf of Defence Ministry said that Fathi is neither in the custody of the police not any security agency. He sought more time from the court for the recovery of the Palestinian national.
The court gave 15 more days to police for his recovery and sought a complete report in this regard and adjourned the hearing.
