Capital city’s sessions court on Monday dismissed a second petition seeking registration of FIR against 15 accused in Lal Masjid operation case including former president Pervez Musharraf. The court ordered the petitioner to record statement by becoming a party to the existing case.
According to details, Islamabad’s Additional Sessions Judge Sikandar Awan read the verdict over petition filed by Shuhada Foundation.
The petition had sought registration of FIR against at least 15 accused including Musharraf and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
The court said in its verdict that the petitioner should become a party to the existing case and record the statement instead of lodging a fresh case.
The court also directed Aabpara Police Station station house officer (SHO) to record the petitioner’s statement. As per the court’s decision, the petitioner can re-nominate Musharraf among other accused in their statement.
