Eleven children succumbed to the adverse conditions in Tharparkar on Monday, taking the death toll to 81 in just 48 days.

Per details, ten children died due to malnutrition and thirst. Another child died while he was being taken to Mithi hospital for treatment.

The drought is showing no signs of abating and has claimed around 500 lives in three years.

Ambulance services are reportedly very rarely provided for these children, forcing parents to travel long distances to take their children to hospital.

With over 40 children currently under medical assistance in Mithi hospital, resources are falling short and several children are in critical condition.

Earlier this month, the Sindh government had appealed to foreign donors to help mitigate the drought situation.

  1. Is it too hard to help these people out? It would take 2 days to sent water tankers from Punjab. Are we a dead nation? yes, we are!
