The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on Monday arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the suicide attack at Wagah border crossing earlier this month.

According to sources, CIA police have taken a person named Baba into their custody for assisting the suicide bomber.

“Baba had provided refuge and logistical support to the suicide bomber,” said the sources.

On November 2, a suicide bomber blew himself up near the Wagah border crossing when a large number of people were returning to the parking area from the parade avenue after attending the flag lowering ceremony. The suicide attack killed 55 and left 120 injured.

A banned terrorist outfit Jundullah, closely tied to al Qaeda and the Taliban, had claimed responsibility for the attack in what it said was a reaction to the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan and Khyber tribal agencies.
