PRF medical unit treats over 500 patients in Thar

Pakistan Relief Foundation’s (PRF) mobile medical unit is working in drought-affected areas of district Tharparkar. It provided treatment to more than 500 patients in two days. The PRF medical relief operation will continue for next many days.

On the directives of PRF Chairman Haleem Adil Shaikh, the NGO’s mobile medical unit led by Dr Noor Muhammad Soomro left for Thraparkar on November 14. They reached Mithi and started medical relief operation.

Medical volunteers, in two days of operation, treated more than 500 patients in villages near by Mithi and Islamkot including Mita Veri Amar, Singhariyo, Guloo Bajeer jo Tarr, Khankhanhaar Bajeer and other villages.

The medical team gave medicines to the needy patients. The team also referred many serious patients to Civil Hospital Mithi by sending them on PRF’s ambulance available with the medical unit.

Talking to local media, Dr Noor Muhammad Soomro said that most of patients were children who had skin diseases, adding that the government should come forward to secure the future of drought-affected families.

Haleem Adil Shaikh said in coming days of winter, difficulties of Tharparkar people would be increased more. They need extra care as their health issues could be resolved sooner.
