Two bogies at Raiwind Railway Station were completely burnt in a fire on Friday.
Per reports, the special train brought participants of the Tableeghi Ijtamah at Raiwind and was stationed at Platform No 3. Suddenly a fire broke out in a bogey which quickly engulfed another carriage.
Railways police said that five persons have been taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in putting the bogeys on fire.
Railways General Manager Javed Anwar said that railway bogeys were set on fire at four different stations during the last three months. These stations were Jacobabad, Rohri, Hyderabad and Raiwind.
He said a committee comprising Railways Police and officers has been formed to investigate the fire incidents, adding that four suspects have been taken into custody for their alleged involvement.
He said that four bogeys were set on fire in Jacoabad and three of them were completely burnt, while one each was burnt in Rohri and Hyderabad.
