The Lahore High Court (LHC) full bench on Friday adjourning hearing of petitions challenging the land acquisition process for Elevated Expressway project in the provincial capital till November 17, sought details from Punjab chief secretary regarding health, education and other projects of civic amenities including the express way project.
The bench comprising Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Aminud Din Khan and Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza passed the orders on petitions filed by Dr Naseem Zaman and others.
During the hearing, petitioner’s counsel Malik Noor Muhammad and amici curiae Advocate Saima Amin Khawaja advanced their arguments on various sections of the Land Acquisition Act.
Lahore Development Authority’s counsel submitted that all requirements were fulfilled for the Expressway project.
Punjab Assistant Advocate General Anwaar Hussain submitted that the government wanted to file a detailed reply in the matter. He pleaded the bench to grant time for the purpose.
