Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says govt will dish out award and punishment to govt employees on basis of their performance
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has said performance would be the yardstick used by the government for dishing out award and punishment.
“Those government officials and employees who perform well will be awarded while those not performing well will be punished,” he said, while chairing a round table consultative workshop to introduce democratic governance reform as stated in the third pillar of Pakistan Vision 2025 at P-Block auditorium.
A large number of civil servants including senior government officials, Establishemnt secretary, Planning secretary, members from academia and private sector participated in the workshop.
The minister said that improvement in government institutions is directly linked with the promotion of the social sector including education, health and public service.
“If these sectors will perform well, the social sector will definitely improve for the welfare of the people.”
Iqbal said that keeping in view the importance of social sector reforms the government is focusing to improve the sector for the benefit of the country.
He said that on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the P&D Ministry is preparing a plan for social sector reforms in the country.
