Five militants connected to BLA killed in Bolan operation

At least 10 suspected militants from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were killed during two separate incidents of clashes with security agencies in Karachi in Sindh and Bolan district in Balochistan on Friday.

In Karachi, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar said that the police raided a house in Swati Mohallah of Quaidabad after receiving information about TTP militants’ presence in the premises. He said that on seeing the raiding party, militants holed up inside the house opened fire using heavy weapons. He added that police were able to kill five suspected militants while successfully arresting two others who were in injured condition.

Two policemen were also injured, he said, adding that police recovered weapons, explosives and other documents from the house.

BOLAN OPERATION:

In Balochistan, at least five militants were killed and five others injured during a search operation carried out by Frontier Corps (FC) in the mountains of Suinni Shoran and Hambada in Bolan district.

According to FC sources, the militants were connected to the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and United Baloch Army (UBA) and were reportedly planning to target public transport at the National Highway.
