The MQM leaders on Thursday lambasted Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah for his mishandling crisis in Thar due to which dozens of children have died in recent days.

Addressing a press conference, MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari said those who were in power in Sindh should be ashamed of what was happening in Thar. Sabzwari said Shah tried to put the onus of Thar crisis on Dr Saghir Ahmed who remained health minister in the Sindh government for just around six months. He said Shah was solely responsible for the present crisis in Thar.

Around 68 infants have died in drought-hit Tharparkar district during the last 44 days. He said the MQM had been working day and night in drought-hit areas of Thar to help masses in difficult time. The MQM leader said the PPP provincial government were giving lame excuses over the serious issue.

He said the Singh government could not blame the MQM for crisis in Thar as the PPP had been enjoying power in the province. He said the PPP had rejected Pildat report which said the PPP government was worst in the province.
