As Sindh prepares to resume polio vaccination campaign in the province, Sindh Inspector General (IG) of Police Ghulam Haider Jamali on Sunday directed his force to devise a foolproof security plan to protect the health workers.
The polio campaign is due to restart in the province on November 15. In an order to police officials, the IG said all available resources should be used while a bigger number of security personnel and special commandos should be deployed in high-risk areas. He further advised to discuss all matters with the health department to cover all aspects of security threats.
Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar had earlier claimed that the Sindh government would eradicate polio within two months.
