RAC organises Kalam-e-Iqbal competition

A tableau and singing of Kalam-e-Iqbal competition among school students of Rawalpindi/Islamabad was arranged by Rawalpindi Arts Council in connection with the birth anniversary of poet of the East and philosopher Dr Allama Iqbal with national zeal, fervour and enthusiasm on Saturday.

Senator Najma Hameed accompanied by Resident Director Waqar Ahmed, intellectual Naeem Qureshi and office bearers of All Pakistan School Management Association were present on the occasion. Senior artist Khalid Zia Siddiqui and Asif Qamar adjudged the competition.

The competitions among the students were organised to highlight role and service of Allama Iqbal for Muslims of sub continent and getting separate homeland.

In Kalam-e-Iqbal competition Headway Escuela School secured first position, Iqra Children School got second, The Excel School got third while The Spangle School remained fourth. Similarly, in tableau competition, The Lynx School got first, Aims School second, Wish International School third and Iqra Academy School remained fourth in the competition.

Speaking on the prize distribution ceremony, Senator Najma Hameed said that the vision of Allama Iqbal and his thoughts were instrumental in awakening the Muslims from deep slumber which was coupled with the sustained efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah that led to the birth of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Paying rich tribute to Allama Iqbal, RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed said that Allama Iqbal based his thoughts on the Quran and promoted humanity in his interpretations. He said that Iqbal aroused the Muslim from disillusionment and reminded them about their future.
