After a lull in fighting between India and Pakistan after weeks of heavy shelling and gun battles across the border, the Indian Army once again resorted to ‘unprovoked’ firing on Saturday.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations statement, the unprovoked firing took place in the Pando sector at the Line of Control near Muzaffarabad. Pakistani troops responded befittingly to Indian firing, and no casualty or loss was reported, the statement added.

ISPR further added that the intermittent exchange of fire between the two countries continues.

Earlier, in the spate of attacks between the two countries, the worst in years at least 21 people were reportedly killed on the Pakistani side.
