Sindh police plans to publish ‘Black Book’

Sindh police on Thursday decided to publish the Black Book with names of notified dacoits.

Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Haider Jamali presided over a high-level meeting in this regard at the central police office and reviewed general law and order situation of the province with special reference to kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes.

The meeting was attended among others by Additional IGPs of specials branch, Crime Branch, Karachi Range, DIGs of headquarters, Crime Branch, Special Branch, Larkana Ranger, Hyderabad Range, Mirpurkhas Range, Shaheed Benazirabad Range, West Zone, South Zone, East Zone, Karachi and AIG Operations Sindh.

The house decided to get Black Book published having names of notified dacoits involved in heinous crimes. It was further decided to include the names of dacoits already notified in first instance whereas the DIG special branch in coordination and consultation with range DIGs would identify other possible remaining dacoits and the list of same would be sent to home department for notification.

After being notified, the Black Book will be updated. The meeting also decided that special teams under district SSPs would be raised to eliminate different gangs involved in kidnapping for ransom. Similarly, all range DIGs will be responsible for developing respective Rapid Response Force for providing manpower to the special teams of district SSPs during operations and supervise their performance.

The Sindh IGP nominated the Additional IGP Crime Branch for monitoring and time to time reviewing the progress of special teams at district level against kidnapping for ransom. The meeting also decided to revamp and reactivate Special Branch and Sindh reserve police at district level.

The IGP further directed police to intensify the ongoing operations against the criminals in Karachi in proper coordination with Sindh Rangers and other law enforcement agencies. He also directed not to avoid any single intelligence information and follow it in letter and spirit.
