CDA set to address Capital’s parking woes

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to construct two multi -level underground car parking plazas to overcome parking issue in markets of Islamabad.

An official of the CDA said on Friday that as a pilot project, two plots in Markaz F-7 had been selected. “Tenders have been opened and are under approval,” he reportedly said.

Both plazas have the capacity to park over 400 vehicles, he said.

To a question, he said that the estimated time of completion of the projects is six to 9 months after the award of work.

To another question, he said, CDA would start development work in five new sectors in the capital during the current financial year. “Development projects are planned for Sectors E-12, C-14, C-16, I-12 and I-15 in the current financial year which will be starte after the fulfilment of codal formalities which are under process,” said the CDA official.
