Outgoing ISI DG pays farewell call on PM, president

The outgoing Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Wednesday.

PM Nawaz and the outgoing ISI chief discussed the ongoing political and security situation of the country, exchanging thoughts on how to handle these matters.

During the meeting, sources said, the PM lauded professional services of the DG ISI who will retire on November 7 as Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar has been appointed as new ISI DG.

Later on, the outgoing ISI DG paid a farewell call on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad and discussed matters of mutual interests.

Presidential spokesman Farooq Adil said that the president commended the services rendered by the outgoing DG ISI for defence and security of the country and for strengthening the intelligence apparatus.

President Mamnoon Hussain wished the outgoing DG ISI good health, success and happiness in his future life.

  1. He should have apologized for the dharna by his stooges, who have wasted many months & loss of Billions of Ruppees to Pakistan.
