Welfare bodies on target in Karachi: Chhipa robbed of five million rupees

Robbers took off with Rs5 million from an office of Chhipa Welfare Association, a social welfare organisation on Wednesday, a private news channel reported.

According to the report, 10 unidentified armed men made their way into the office and held the office staff hostage for around an hour and fled the scene with Rs5 million.

Last month, the head office of Edhi Foundation; a renowned philanthropic organisation, was robbed. The foundation’s founder Abdul Sattar Edhi and his staff were held hostage and looted of cash and valuables worth millions of rupees in Mithadar.

The robbery was strongly condemned by all sections of the country.
