PM vows to make Pakistan terror-free

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to eliminate militancy and terrorism from the country with the cooperation of the public.

The premier was talking to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday. The two discussed the overall security situation in Pakistan with particular reference to ongoing military offensive, Operation Zarb-e-Azb, against terrorists in North Waziristan Agency.

The PM said that National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NCTA) will have to be made functional to effectively combat terrorism.

“A comprehensive strategy will have to be adopted against terrorism. The nation firmly believes in elimination of terrorism from the country,” the premier reportedly said.

He also paid rich tribute to the security personnel who had sacrificed their lives for the security of the country.
