After reduction in petrol and diesel retail prices by the federal government, there seems nobody to enforce this decision as most of the petrol pumps are selling petroleum products above the rates announced by the prime minister.

In Naundero town, all three petrol pumps are involved in charging more from the consumers openly without check by any district government or petroleum companies. A visit to these filling stations showed that Agani Petrol Pump of Naundero was selling Petrol at Rs 99.90 and diesel at Rs 105 per liter.

Doda Khan Petrol Pump was charging Rs 100 and Rs 105 per liter, whereas Naundero Petrol Pump was found selling petrol at the rate of Rs 99.35 and diesel at Rs 105 per liter against the reduced rates of Rs 94.14 for liter of petrol and Rs 101.21 for diesel.

Doda Khan Petrol Pump and Naundero Petrol Pump have been given on contract basis to a Hindu trader and Khuhro community person respectively. On finding, a team of journalists which went there after receiving overcharging complaints, their managers took to their heels and tried to flee and refused to reply to the questions.

It is pertinent to add that individual persons had also established their huts in entire Larkana district including Naundero where smuggled Iranian petrol was being sold openly without any checking by the police or custom authorities which may become fatal someday.

In Larkana city, most of the pumps are selling these products on fixed rates and they have added only transportation charges at their own free will. Qazi Petrol Pump, Larkana, was selling petrol at Rs 97.40 and diesel at Rs104.40 per liter.
