Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq Sunday asked all political parties to resolve their issues through negotiation and reconciliation, adding that political instability would weaken the foundations of the country.

Highlighting the country’s political history while addressing a press conference, Haq said that dictators ruled over the country for 35 years.

“But this time we succeeded in saving the country from martial law and convinced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and the government to settle their issues through negotiations,” he said.

Criticising the Bangladesh government for handing out death sentences to the countyr’s JI leadership, Haq termed it as an act of brutal state terrorism. He asked the international community and Pakistan government to exert pressure on the Bangladesh government in this regard.

Haq said that a big public gathering would be held on November 21 at Minar-e-Pakistan from where a decisive move would be launched to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state.

Meanwhile, the JI chief also appealed to people to remain peaceful and respect the sanctity of the month of Muharram.
