Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed displeasure over non-encashment of cheques given to national hockey team players and has ordered an inquiry into the matter, Punjab government spokesman Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri said Saturday.
Qadri said that Punjab chief minister had directed the authorities to contact each player and apologise on the cheques’ bouncing and ordered that the cheques’ provided should be cashed and the deserved money should be given to hockey team players during the next working day. The CM also ordered that this malfunction should be reported to higher authorities.
The spokesman said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif considered the national hockey team players valuable to the country’s national recognition and integrity.
