Terror attack foiled as police kill 3 terrorists in city

A major terror attack was foiled on Friday when the city police intercepted terrorists and gunned down three of them including a would-be suicide bomber in an encounter.

According to details, the terrorists were planning an attack on MA Jinnah Road. During the course of action, police recovered heavy arms, ammunition, detonators and suicide jackets.

SSP Malir Rao Anwar told media that a suicide bomber and TTP Karachi chapter Ameer Sultan were also killed in the shootout. The shootout took place at Sohrab Goth near Super Highway.

He said heavy arms, detonators and suicide vest were also recovered during the police action. Identities of other alleged militants were yet to be known. Meanwhile, intelligence agencies have warned the government about possible terror attacks on specific targets in Karachi during the holy month of Muharram.

Agencies have reported that the rebellious Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has planned to attack specific places in different areas of Karachi. Taliban’s top leadership have assigned the task to Amir Khalil belonging to MPR Colony.

According to reports, two suicide bombers have entered the metropolis for the purpose. These self exploding bombers will target the mourning Shia community by possibly targeting the sect in Orangi Town, Manghopir, and Aligarh Colony.

Among places of worship, Imam Bargah Garam Chashma and Kala Maidan are specifically mentioned. One seminary student Muhammad Zameen, 18, has been reportedly assigned the task of blowing himself up while two suicide jackets weighing around 5 to 6 Kg have also been prepared.

Law enforcement agencies have started looking up for the terrorists.
