MQM hails slash in petroleum prices

Muttahida Qaumi Movement National Assembly Member (MNA) Shaikh Salahuddin Friday welcomed the government’s decision to slash petroleum prices.

During the NA session, Salahuddin also asked the government to take steps to decrease the price of other commodities following the slash in petroleum prices.

Speaking at the occassion, Dr Roshan asked the Sindh government to take steps for the recovery of a 13-year-old kidnapped girl.

Ameer Zaman asked the government to release Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited (OGDCL) employees arrested on Wednesday. He also asked the Balochistan government to constitute a judicial commission to probe the attack on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chairman Fazlur Rehman in Quetta.

Usman Khan Tarkai said that the government should restore Pakistan International Airline flights from Gulf countries.

“Sindh is producing around 69.7 percent of the total gas in the country,” said Abdul Rashid Gondal, adding that the government should provide gas connections to 10,000 applicants from Karachi, whose applications are pending in the Ministry of Petroleum.

Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan appreciated the performance of the Pakistan cricket team, especially the performance of Younis Khan.

Qamarud Din said that provinces should be given their rights and the attack on JUI-F chief be investigated.

Dr Ramesh Kumar demanded the government to take steps for the protection of minorities. Speaking on the occasion, Jamaluddin asked the governemnt to constitute a committee to look into crimes committed against minorities.

NA Deputy Speaker Javed Murtaz Abbasi referred the issue of victimisation of minorities in Sindh to the Committee of Law and Justice and said that a report be submitted before the NA within one week.
