Ramesh Vankani says Anjali, 13, was abducted from Dherki on Oct 29
Pakistan Hindu Council Patron-in-chief Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, who is also a prominent Hindu lawmaker, has vehemently protested against the kidnapping of a 13-year-old Hindu girl from Sindh.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Ramesh informed them that a Hindu girl named Anjali had been kidnapped on October 29 from Dherki. A gang of kidnappers that included an alleged criminal named ‘Siyal’ and a local politician while they kept her in a madrassa and forcibly converted her to Islam and adapt Islamic principles.
Weak state failed to provide minorities security:
He regretted that state institutions were unable to provide non-Muslims required security, which was a violation of the Constitution and went against general strength of the state itself. He asked for stern action against alleged criminals. “Five thousand Hindu citizens forcedly migrated to other countries every year, according to a latest report prepared by Pakistan Hindu Council,” Dr Ramesh added.
Meanwhile, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi has referred the matter to Law and Human Rights’ Standing Committee.
