Army called in Pindi for Ashura

Pakistan Army has been called in aid to civil administration to maintain law and order situation in Rawalpindi during Muharram.

The army will stay in Rawalpindi from Muharram 8 to 10. As many as four companies of army have been called in and two points have been allocated for their deployment.

Army troops will remain deployed in CMA and its surrounding areas, Asghar Mall Chowk, Mareer Chowk, Kutchery Chowk, Tehsil Gujjar Khan, Tehsil Kallar Syedan and Bahara Kahu.

These military contingents will monitor the movement at entry and exit points of Rawalpindi city. These troops will return to their respective formations following the conclusion of Ashura Muharram procession.
