President urges civil servants to improve service delivery, manage state affairs through national policies

President Mamnoon Hussain has underscored the need to take effective measures for improving service delivery and work for public interests which would catalyze socio-economic development.

While addressing the participants of 101st National Management Course Thursday at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president said that the civil servants play a key role in managing affairs of the state and the public through formulation of national policies and its implementation.

The president stated that people of Pakistan expected good governance and effective service delivery for solution of their problems.

Therefore, there is a need for improving governance in a manner in which authority is judiciously exercised in the management of country’s human, economic, material and social resources for collective national development, said the president.

The president stressed on adopting continuity and a unified approach in pursuit of national goals and priorities in order to put the country on path of sustainable development.

In this regard, civil servants should act in unison and with dedication in achieving the goals and meaningfully contribute to the national good.

The civil service of Pakistan is the mainframe that holds together the various state institutions and organizations. The strength of this mainframe lies in your professionalism, competence, integrity, commitment and perseverance, president said.

“People demand better service delivery, hence bureaucracy need to work for the welfare of masses. It is imperative to further reform the civil services especially those services that have direct interaction with the people. The government has provided the direction and policy framework and the civil services should execute and deliver improved services to the satisfaction of the people of country,” further stated the president.

The president urged the participants to perform their duties with utmost honesty, dedication and discourage all forms of corruption in their sphere of influence.

  1. there are 500,000 bureaucrats against 1000+ lawmakers….who will listen to them unless the politicians themselves starts delivering & not get influenced by these bureaucrats…..
