The law enforcement agencies on Thursday conducted raid at the residence of Uzair Baloch in Lyari and arrested a key gangster, officials said.
The contingents of law enforcement agencies conducted raid at the house of Uzair Baloch in Singu Lane and arrested Sarwar Baloch, a key operative of Lyari Gang War. Scores of other suspects were also detained in search operation in the area.
Armed men opened fire at Rangers personnel during a search operation in Nawa Lane area of Lyari killing a personnel of the paramilitary force, while another was injured in the incident.
The operation was conducted on an intelligence report about presence of criminals in the area, a spokesman of Rangers said.
The martyred personnel was identified as Asghar. The injured official Rahim was immediately moved to a nearby hospital for medical attendance.
During the search operation, Sarwar Baloch, a notorious criminal was arrested from the house of Uzair Baloch, chief of the outlawed People’s Aman Committee.
Scores of suspects were arrested during the operation.
