Imran not capable of defending himself in SC: Rashid

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid took a jab at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief on Thursday, saying he is not capable of presenting himself in front of the Supreme Court to prove the rigging allegations he has repeatedly made.

“For the last few months, Imran has been sitting atop a container which is just a few steps away from the SC, yet he does not have the courage to appear before the court,” the minister said while addressing reporters outside Parliament House.

Rashid stated that Imran claimed he would present ballot papers which were allegedly printed in Urdu Bazaar, prove how the returning officers were complicit in his loss in the elections, and prove how Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech and former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry’s role had an adverse effect on his party in the elections.

Rashid said Imran’s lack of presence in the apex court could only mean two things; either, he is not playing by the rules or doesn’t have the ability to play by the rules, and that he does not have the ability to present himself in front of the ‘umpire’.

“He can only present his case in front his crowd of supports, in front of empty seats,” he said.

“My request to him (Imran) would be to present himself in Parliament and play his role,” said Rashid.

  1. This guy always talk non-se+++. NS should replace him with a younger and pragmatic information minister. This advise to end sit-in must come from NS by starting the interrupted negotiation on judicial commission tp probe the election rigging.
