IHC to hear Asad Umar’s case on over-billing today

Islamabad High Court (IHC) will take up for hearing today a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Asad Omar challenging alleged over-billing by power distribution companies.

The petition will come up for hearing before a single bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minullah.

Water and power secretary will present detailed report on the amount collected by power distribution companies from consumers through over billing and complaints of the consumers.

The court during the previous hearing of the case had sought detailed report from WAPDA, IESCO, MEPCO, other power distribution companies and Water and Power Ministry secretary about the amount collected from consumers due to over billing.

The court had also ordered on previous hearing that the amount charged to consumers through over billing be returned to them. Farrukh Dall advocate will appear in the court on behalf of PTI.
