Pakistan International Airlines on Wednesday sold four of its seven aircraft it had put up for a scrap auction for a paltry sum of Rs 20 million, a news channel reported.
Among the seven aircraft that were up for grabs, four were Boeing – one 747 and three 737s while the remaining were Airbus A310s which failed to secure any acceptable bids. The successful bidder will be given custody of the aircraft upon furnishing 25 per cent of the total amount.
Nine companies took part in the bidding process, including a private airline.
