Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Ijaz A Mumtaz expressed his views about the significance of Chevening Scholarship while talking to a team of Chevening Scholarship Programme on Tuesday, led by British High Commission Head of Chevening Scholarship Programme Jonathan Williams in Pakistan on Tuesday.
Mumtaz said Chevening Scholarship is important for graduate students in specific and the people of Pakistan in general designed by the UK Government to provide aid to enthusiastic students in Pakistan. Pakistan is a Chevening eligible country and many of our people have benefited from it.
Lahore Chamber Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir, Chevening Scholarships Deputy Head, British High Commission Shehla Qayyum, Pakistan Chevening Program Head and UK Chevening Secretariat Haresh Lokhun and Executive Committee Members also spoke on the occasion.
The LCCI president said that this scholarship is an important example of UK government’s interest in spreading education worldwide. He said an increase in the number of these scholarships is an admirable idea. This year around 70 scholarships are available to Pakistani students.
