Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly been chosen to star in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange”.
It had previously been suggested that the likes of Colin Farrell and Keanu Reeves were in contention for the part, but it now appears that the studio has made a final decision.
Cumberbatch – an early contender for the part – was thought to be out of the running due to his theatre commitments. However, the Marvel project is said to be going into production later than expected.
Joaquin Phoenix was previously in talks to play the titular character, but the actor’s representative recently confirmed that talks were mutually brought to an end.
