A photographic exhibition arranged by Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) depicting the atrocities of the Indian forces on the innocent people of occupied Kashmir was put on display on Monday.
More than one hundred pictures are showcased in the exhibition which highlights the violation of the human rights by the Indian forces.
RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed accompanied by Dr Azmat Ullah Sultan inaugurated the exhibition. The day is marked when Indian troops landed in Srinagar on October 27, 1947 and occupied Jammu & Kashmir in total disregard to the patrician plan of the sub-continent and against the Kashmir’s aspiration.
While expressing views on this occasion, Ahmed said that the series of the atrocities of the Indian forces on the innocent people of Jammu & Kashmir is the violation of the human rights and is challenge for the international powers claimant of human rights. He added that India’s rigid and unrealistic stance on Kashmir was the main hurdle in peaceful settlement of the conflict. Waqar Ahmed said Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif raised the issue of Held Kashmir in United Nations very bluntly.
Dr Azmat Ullah Sultan said that United Nation is silent on the issue of this violation and scarifies of martyred of the occupied Kashmiris are demanded of independence.
On the directions of Punjab Arts Council Executive Director special events were also organized in Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Murree, Faisalabad and DG Khan to observe on Black Day to show solidarity with innocent Kashmiris.
