Islamabad High Court (IHC) has admitted for hearing a petition seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against former president Asif Ali Zardari for giving “anti-judiciary” statements and using “derogatory” remarks against former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

IHC Chief Justice Anwar Khan Kansi took up for hearing the petition in connection with contempt of court proceedings against Asif Ali Zardari Monday.

The petitioner told the court that former president had targeted the superior judiciary during public meetings of his party and had called former CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as “Dajjal” while such words come under the ambit of contempt of superior judiciary.

The court while ordering for fixing the case again for hearing adjourned the hearing indefinitely.
