The National Weather Forecasting Centre (NWFC) Tuesday forecasted showers over isolated places in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi during next 24 hours.

The scattered rain thunderstorm with light snowfall over hills is expected in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions of Punjab, and Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar and Kohat divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Mainly hot and dry weather was forecast for most parts of Sindh and Balochistan provinces in next 24 hours.

According to synoptic situation, severe tropical cyclone (Nilofar) in the Arabian Sea, which had intensified into a very severe tropical cyclone, was located at about 1120 km in southwest of Karachi and 1030 km south of Gawadar. It would continue to move in northwest direction with a speed of six km per hour and was expected to re-curve north-eastwards towards adjoining coastal areas of Lower Sindh and Indian Gujrat on Wednesday. A westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 48 hours.
