An election tribunal has ordered re-election in PS-14 Jacobabad constituency.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Sardar Abdul Muqeem had emerged victorious in the general elections in 2013 from PS-14 constituency after securing 15,838 votes.

Aslam Abro of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) came in second after securing 15,776 votes in the polls.

Muqeem’s victory was challenged by the rival candidate Aslam Abro of PML-N and Raja Khan Jakhrani. The tribunal on Monday declared the result of the election as void and ordered new elections in the constituency.
