Chairing a meeting on anti-polio measures in the provincial capital, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stressed the need for taking every possible measure to eradicate polio virus from the province.
The chief minister ordered the administration to continue the anti-polio campaign, adding that the surveillance system should be improved and through checking to be done at exit and entry points of the province.
He directed to constitute a special committee headed by the chief secretary, which will meet twice a month to review progress of the campaign. He also directed for devising a comprehensive mechanism to provide complete security to polio workers.
